Pep Guardiola's Zoning Tactics

The ground is divided into 4 horizontal and 5 vertical zones. Not more than 3 players must be in a horizontal zone in a particular moment. Not more than 2 players must be in a vertical zone at any given moment. The half spaces in the attacking and defensive midfield become all the more important. However, with this tactic, Guardiola lost 4-1 to Liverpool while Man City defeated Manchester United with a brilliant through pass from the goalkeeper to the forward that resulted in the substitution of Marcus Rashford in favour of a defender! :)
